PARKOUR
At Atlanta Parkour we teach people of all ages and abilities the art of Parkour. Whether you are just starting out or want to practice some serious tricks, AP is for you.
Parkour is centered around skills used to navigate any environment. Since every environment is different, Parkour is a discipline of problem solving; using your skills navigate the best path. We break down Parkour into three area of practice.
Speed, Skills, & Style
Speed: When practicing Parkour for speed there are usually checkpoints involved. An athlete is tasked with finding the best way to navigate through these checkpoints. This requires the ability to adapt to any course, using the skills the athlete has honed.
Skills: The Parkour athlete focuses on the skills that allow them to traverse an area. They combine vaulting, climbing, running and jumping. The athlete will apply their technique to any situation or obstacle . When they encounters an environment, they must adapt their skills.
Style: Parkour athletes learn tricks and aerial maneuvers incorporating them into the environment. These daring flips and twists have made Parkour popular on the Internet. A solid foundation of both technique and speed are required for an athlete to safely use their tricks in any environment. Parkour athletes pride themselves on their unique style and that style appears when they have mastered Parkour.
We are here to help you navigate through the art of Parkour. Our skilled coaches will show you the difference between a kong-pre, a kong-speed step, and a kong-punch-front out, safely. And it a lot of fun.
